How can you take potatoes and cream and take them to the next level? You can do it with this recipe!
Ingredients:
-4 tbsp butter
-4 cloves garlic, minced
-1 medium yellow onion, sliced
-1/4 cup flour
-2 cups heavy cream
-3 tbsp dried thyme
-Salt and Pepper to taste
-1 1/2 lb Yukon Potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced on a mandolin
-1/4 tsp paprika
Instructions:
1. Heat oven to 350 degrees.
2. In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium high heat. Add garlic and onion and saute until the onion is translucent, 8-10 minutes.
3. Add flour and stir into the onions, until the flour is smooth and coats the onions.
4. Pour in cream, thyme, salt and pepper and bring the cream to a boil.
5. Stir in the potatoes and cook in the cream until the potatoes as just tender, 8-10 minutes.
6. Transfer the potatoes to a greased, oven safe pan. Use a spoon to press the mixture down and sprinkle with paprika.
7. Bake until the top of the potatoes are golden brown, about 40 minutes.
