Homemade Chef Boyardee

Chef Boyardee has an incredible canned Ravioli empire and it's no wonder when they are selling a great product, pasta! However, as an adult their canned Ravioli falls short of the mark. Here's a recipe for making Ravioli in the style of Chef Boyardee.


Ingredients:

- 2 servings Ravioli (find the pasta dough recipe here and the ravioli recipe here.)


Ravioli Filling

-3 cups Ricotta

-1 cup Shredded Parmesan

-2 tablespoons Olive Oil


Sauce

-2 tablespoons olive oil

-1 pound Ground Beef

-1 Yellow Onion

-Salt and Pepper to taste

-6 oz Tomato Paste

-2 teaspoons Italian Seasoning

-1 tablespoon Fresh Parsley


Garnish

-Parmesan Cheese to taste


Instructions:

For the Ravioli

1. Mix the Ravioli Filling ingredients together in a bowl.

2. Make the pasta dough using this recipe.

3. Cut and form the Ravioli using these instructions.




For the Sauce

1. In a large saucepan, heat up the olive oil over high heat. When the oil is heated turn the stove to mid-high heat, add the ground beef and onions. Season with salt and pepper. Stir until the beef is cooked through.

2. Add Tomato Sauce, Tomato Paste, and Italian Seasoning to the saucepan. Stir until the ingredients are mixed and cooked through. Once the sauce is heated, add the fresh parsley and mix.

3. Serve the Ravioli topped the sauce, garnish with parmesan, and enjoy!
